The Story of Lotus
I believe my sister Beatriz is primarily referring to nature through the blessing she wrote as poetry one day:
“May the little things produce big wonder.”
Nature certainly produced big wonder for her, not only in her every day, but also as a part of the exquisite compositions in her art. She had an ability to interpret nature at a depth that I have always marveled at, and I hope this ring captures that profoundness.
I spent a month in northern Thailand during college, and it was the first time I encountered the raw power of the lotus plant. How could something so beautiful emerge pristine from a muddy swamp?
In my imagination, the lotus flower is on a journey, from the dark fertile muddy depths of the earth, towards us, to the moon, and beyond. Its mission is revealed to us through its gift, the vision of a sublime flower sending its primal beauty forth as energy for us to enjoy.
